We are looking for a motivated individual to fill a Custodial Supervisor position at a private School Bell Buckle, TN (30 minutes southeast of Murfreesboro town).

This is a full time non- exempt (hourly) position.  This position is with SFM and will be supervising SFM employees.  Hours will vary throughout the week depending on customer needs and supervisory responsibilities.  This position will be a working supervisor with designated areas to be cleaned daily.  Bilingual skills are preferred.

Basic Job Responsibilities :

  • Manage all phases of custodial routine, operations, and events, to ensure the completed safely and the customer is satisfied.  
  • Implement work standards; determine custodial duties be performed and the types of materials and equipment to use.
  • Manage scheduling of custodial staff to ensure that the daily needs of the client are met.
  • Manage ordering,  inventory and maintenance of assigned tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Conduct effective custodial training with the objective of standardizing procedures, material usage, safety, sanitation requirements, work techniques, and efficiency to produce customer satisfaction, and a clean, safe environment.
  • Engage in cleaning designated areas on a daily basis and when it is necessary to fill in for absent employees.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Skills: 

  • Substantial knowledge of custodial equipment (stripping process, floor waxing, carpet care, and cleaning materials and experience determining appropriate and safe use of supplies).
  • General understanding of human resource management practices; ability to explain employment policies and procedures such as workers comp, harassment complaints, medical or personal leave policies, etc.
  • Ability to lead by example and model a caring and open work environment that values the individual; teams and teamwork; ethical conduct; and exemplary customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to supervise and communicate with others including faculty, staff, students and campus community.

Working Conditions/ Requirements:

  • Required to carry and use electronic devices “smartphones”, handhelds or radio phones for communication purposes.
  • Must be physically able to perform physical labor for extended periods of time. Lifting up to 75 pounds.required to work alternate work hours and/or shifts and be able to work extended hours with little or no advanced notice.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.Must possess a minimum of five years recent and relevant work experience supervising (custodial or janitorial) in large facilities, schools, hospital or commercial settings.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to work on spreadsheets, reports, emails).Must have a valid driver's license and clean records.
  • Must be able to pass the criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present.
  • Must be able to work on Smoke-free work environments.

Additional Information

Compensation: Semi- monthly salary $1,733.33 ($41,600/year)

Retention Bonus:

  • $100 bonus after 60-days employment
  • $200 bonus after 120-days employment

Phone:  This position requires a smartphone. SFM will provide a phone, however, if you decided to continue using your personal phone for SFM business we will pay an allowance of $30 per month
