Job Description

We are currently looking for an individual willing to work within an established team that possesses an exceptional customer service attitude and attention to detail. With Basic computer skills and willingness to learn to fill a full-time sexton/porter position at a prominent Church facility in the West Nashville area (Belle Meade).

Full time: Expectancy of 40 hrs/week. 
Work Schedule: 5 Days weekly Wednesday thru Sunday,7:30 am till 4 pm. with possible OT and evening work depending on scheduled events.  

Job responsibilities:

  • Performing sexton duties to support the detailed set-up and tear-down schedules of a busy church, including help for presentations as needed/trained.
  • Day Porter: basic cleaning and disinfection duties and performing set-ups and tear-downs. Do light cleaning as needed
  • Weekday events: assist during event set-ups and teardowns as needed. monitor needs
  • Weekend duties include event setup/teardown and monitoring events and clean up after.  Setting up the projector, microphones for meetings/events.  
  • Ability to learn systems used in presentations by clergy to support as needed

Work Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license 
  • Shows proficient English Language communications skills (writing and speaking) 
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours (morning, evenings, or weekends when is required). There will be OT in the afternoons and evenings specifically to help with event setups. 
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors
  • Can pass TBI criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present and E-Verify check
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to comply with physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. 
  • Ability to lifting and pushing up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, peers or customers in English
  • Able to comply with the background check required to work in facilities around children
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to work weekends/nights as required 
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn

Additional Information

Compensation:
$16-$18 per hour depending on experience
