Job Description

We are looking for someone who has experience in cutting and lining of grass and artificial athletic fields and making sure the venues are ready for a practice or game.  You should be results-driven and eye for detail.  You must possess a customer service attitude and be comfortable working with a group or solo.  You must be willing to engage in a wide variety of work activities, such as moving furniture, setting-up and tearing-down public events, and assisting with basic repairs throughout the campus. This is an all-year-round job at a large private school. 

Job Responsibilities:
Duties including, but not limited to the mowing of grass athletic fields, painting of lines for seasonal sports, trimming, edging, pulling weeds & weed eating, removal of trash and irrigation monitoring,  

Artificial field duties are to sweep and groom the surface with equipment pulled behind a UTV, painting of lines for seasonal sports lines and removing trash.   

Campus-wide duties include pulling or spraying weeds and cleaning grounds, drains, stairwells, walkways, and paved areas of litter and debris.   

Wintertime duties include the removal of snow on drives, sidewalks, and stairs. 

Duties also include the use of small tractors; perform maintenance and minor repairs on grounds equipment.  
 

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a minimum of two years of operating and maintaining commercial lawn care equipment with an emphasis on sports fields. 
  • Self-motivated & directed with an eye for detail
  • High-energy, roll up your sleeves mentality

  • Ability to work with groups and solo
  • A high degree of flexibility and tolerance for change
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 100 pounds (on an intermittent basis)
  • Ability to bend and twist the body, making a repetitive motion, standing for a long period of time, walking, and climbing ladders (constant movement during shift)
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors environment (80%-90% exposure to inclement weather conditions)
  • Ability to document completed tasks into a computer-based work order system
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Regular hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; availability to work flexible hours as scheduled (mornings, nights and weekends)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license (clean records)
  • Must have a reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work evenings or weekends when required
  • Must be able to pass the criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present. (100% fingerprints fee reimbursement)
  • Must be able to work in a smoke-free campus

Compensation:

  • $16 - $18 per hour (Depend of Experience)
