Job Description
We are looking for Senior Frontend Engineers to join our Client Technology team. We build the digital experiences and services through which clients interact with Scalable Capital—from onboarding and authentication to consent, client data, and client support.
You will use React, TypeScript, Next.js, and GraphQL to simplify complex financial processes and create secure, accessible, and reliable products in a regulated environment. Typical challenges include designing intuitive onboarding and other client journeys, building frontend foundations, and balancing rapid delivery with long-term scalability.
We look for engineers with a strong product mindset who know how to strike the right balance: moving fast to deliver immediate business value while building reusable, scalable architecture for the long term. Additionally, AI is central to how we work, and you will use modern AI tooling in your day-to-day work across our products and engineering workflows.
Your Responsibilities
Next.js Applications: Build and maintain high-quality, client-facing web applications with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
GraphQL Services: Design and implement GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and fragments, and contribute to federated GraphQL services.
Frontend Component Library: Contribute to our shared frontend component library and help establish reusable, accessible, and consistent UI patterns across our applications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Operations, Design, Data, and backend teams to build scalable software solutions and evolve reliable GraphQL service contracts.
Engineering Excellence: Write clean, testable, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on security, data privacy, accessibility, performance, and operational reliability in a regulated environment.
Supporting Services: Contribute to server-side rendering and TypeScript-based backend functions that support frontend products and user journeys.
Continuous Growth: Contribute to architectural improvements, testing, observability, and developer experience. Depending on your experience, you will also have opportunities to shape technical direction, mentor peers, and elevate engineering standards across the team.
Qualifications
Core Requirements:
Education & Experience: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical industry experience building production-grade software.
Core Tech Stack: Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js, and modern frontend application architecture.
Frontend Fundamentals: Practical experience building production web applications, including responsive interfaces, accessibility, performance, authentication, and server-side rendering.
GraphQL: Good understanding of GraphQL and experience with GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and integrations, together with familiarity with federated GraphQL architectures.
Shared UI Development: Experience working with frontend component libraries and design systems.
Testing & Quality: Experience writing automated tests with modern frontend testing tools and a strong understanding of maintainable frontend code.
Communication: Clear, open, and concise communication skills, with professional fluency in English.
Nice-to-Haves: (Experience in these areas is a plus, but not required to apply!)
Experience building and maintaining federated GraphQL services.
Experience contributing to a shared frontend component library or design system.
Experience with TypeScript-based serverless applications.
Background building software in regulated, high-security, or operationally critical environments.
