We got our start in 2011, when media system designer James Geiger began creating shading systems in his Charleston, SC home.  In his quest to marry elegance with functionality, James designed a revolutionary shading system—a system with no visible wires or screws.  James launched his first ad campaign to promote the radically minimalist R Series Shading System in 2012.  Within a few short years, J Geiger shades were in some of the nation’s most exclusive homes and businesses.  Our patented hardware speaks for itself, but J Geiger craftsmanship doesn’t end there.  We are a full-service provider, equipped to thoughtfully design, custom manufacture, and accurately install your shading system to ensure your expectations are met in exacting detail.

Position Summary

We have an immediate need for an exceptional Inventory Associate to join our highly skilled production team and play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction.  The ideal candidate is someone who strives to be the best and takes great pride in their craftsmanship.  With each project, the Inventory Associate will be counted on to uphold the standards of quality and innovation J Geiger and Savant are known for.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform inventory and warehouse related tasks
• Learn all aspects of manufacturing, from production to light assembly of products
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Sorting and stacking various products
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, returning supplies and equipment to assigned locations
• Ability to read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch
• Assemble and prepare goods for shipment
• Organize inventory in an easy-to-access process
• Monitor and communicate with purchasing to insure inventory levels
• Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production schedule
• Perform work safely by following all standards for performance
• Clean and prepare work area to eliminate potential hazards and ensure day-to-day safety
• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition
• Receive and inspect incoming stock and file packing lists
• Pick and pack parts for shipping
• Detailed parts assembly
• Report discrepancies and inventory issues to leadership
• Cycle counting for both in-house stock and multiple field locations (using bar code and item location tracking software)
• Ability to utilize the inventory concepts of KANBAN, FIFO, Min/Max
• Filing, data entry, and general clerical and office duties, on a daily basis
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work independently with limited supervision
• Follow verbal and written instructions (English)
• Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools as required
• Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
• Use simple hand tools to perform reassembly of motors – roller shade motor assembly, brackets, screws & washers
• Use a circular saw to cut metal tubing

Requirements

• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a desire to learn and develop multiple skills
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Commitment to doing the highest quality work while putting safety first
• Previous manufacturing inventory experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office suite and an understanding of inventory software
• Shipping (both parcel packages and LTL) experience preferably with FedEx Ship Manager
• Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Detail oriented
• Proficient problem-solving skills
• The candidate must be able to lift products weighing up to 35 lbs. by themselves also heavy objects with the assistance of another team member up to 75.

Additional Desirable Skills

• Prior experience in inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, production environments
• Prior experience operating a forklift.

Working Conditions

• Our facility is located at 7421 Industry Drive, North Charleston, SC 29418
• Work is performed indoors in a clean, temperature-controlled environment equipped with air conditioning.
• The work schedule is 40 hours per week Mon – Fri.  7:30am – 5:15pm.  45 min lunch with two 15 min breaks.
• Loud environment.
• Repetitive tasks.
• Labor intensive.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Compensation

• This is a direct-hire position with full benefits -- medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, paid vacation, 401k plan with employer match.
• $20-22 per hour depending on experience.
