Job Description

In this role you will own the mechanical design of the Power & Lighting control products to meet customer needs. You will implement product designs from concept to finished product based on product specifications. You will analyze mechanical design from all aspects to ensure performance, aesthetics and reliability requirements are met. You will work closely with design engineers to ensure the on-time delivery of the NPI and TCO projects.

 

- Own the mechanical design and DFM for Power & Lighting control NPI and TCO projects.

- Create product designs via 3D modelling in SolidWorks or Pro/E environment; create part drawings.

- Contribute technical solution /solve technical issue, collaborate with global team members. Provide supplier mechanical resource management support to project manager.

- Closely work with design engineers to develop and execute test evaluation plans.

- Managing the production of prototypes of preliminary designs.

- Evaluate and implement product designs from concept to finished product based on product specifications.

- Own the DFM (design for manufacturing), cooperate with suppliers to optimize mechanical design

-  Work with manufacturers on tooling qualification and design support, including conduct first piece approval and mass-production approval.

- Prepare and analyze data and drawing to pass the internal technical tollgate review.

- Ensure to provide the right quality level of technical deliverables at each project development phase.
 

Qualifications

- Mechanical Engineering background. Bachelor's degree and above.

- Over 3 years mechanical product design experience.

- Proficient to make drawing with SolidWorks or Pro/E

- Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably stamping, die-casting, injection etc

- Understanding the design for tooling, as well as tooling qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in engineering analysis, testing, problem solving, and design execution.

- Full of team work spirit; willing to take challenges and learn new knowledge.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Fluency in English and Chinese.

 

Desired

- Experience in lighting control or circuit breaker industry.

- Experience of thermal simulation, familiar with Flow EFD or ICEPAK..
