Racepoint Energy is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Compliance/Safety Engineer to work with our Systems Engineering Division. Successful candidates will work in collaboration with our electrical, software, systems, and quality engineering teams to ensure energy products meet regulatory and safety standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Research and identify applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes (including
• UL, NEC) for energy products
• Define and document compliance and safety requirements at the systems, hardware, and software level
• Organize and track progress of compliance and safety requirements through the development cycle of new products
• Organize compliance and safety test plans by establishing safety validation strategies, preparing timelines, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment
• Identify and work with external engineering firms for consulting and testing services where needed
• Interface with third-party testing labs to coordinate testing and certifications
• Perform forensic analysis of system failures
• Contribute information and analysis to team meetings and reports
• Track and understand emerging compliance engineering practices and standards

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION

• Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience working with regulatory and safety standards
• Must have knowledge of energy or electrical systems
• Must have excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to manage time efficiently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of Solar and Energy Storage Systems
• Experience with UL certifications and testing
• Experience with fire and safety testing and codes
