As Santen Vietnam continues to grow and expand its business, we are looking for a talented individual to join us as a Therapeutic Area Development Manager. 

The purpose of the Therapeutic Area Development Manager is to serve as the primary internal expert and liaison for the therapeutic areas of Dry Eye, Infection, and Glaucoma. This role is critical for establishing and maintaining a strong, up-to-date knowledge base regarding the latest research, developments, and trends within these specific therapeutic areas. Furthermore, the Manager acts as the crucial link with the company's R&D organization, utilizing this deep expertise to facilitate close collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Safety Vigilance, and Clinical Development, ensuring the effective and informed advancement of the company's initiatives in these therapeutic spaces.

Job Description

What will you do

 

  • Develop Strategic Vision: Visualize the patient journey and contribute to therapeutic area strategies aligned with overall business objectives, providing insights for product development and life-cycle management.

  • Lead Education Initiatives: Identify educational gaps among healthcare professionals (HCPs) and develop/implement programs (symposia, advisory boards, digital tools) to enhance their knowledge and improve patient care.

  • Drive Patient-Centric Programs: Create patient-centric initiatives and programs to improve treatment access and support patient education within the therapeutic areas.

  • Solve Systemic Gaps: Gather insights on patient and health system pain points, then propose sustainable, cost-effective solutions in collaboration with healthcare partners.

  • Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including HCPs, KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory bodies, to gather insights and share information.

  • Ensure Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Global Medical Affairs to ensure consistent integration of all therapeutic area strategies and initiatives.

  • Coordinate Research and Publications: Work with Medical Affairs to align on research opportunities, scientific publications, and pre-registration activities.

  • Lead and Mentor Projects: Take the lead in coordinating therapeutic area development projects, ensuring timely execution, and providing guidance and mentorship to team members.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree minimum in Science, Pharmacy, or equivalent.

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 8 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with a preference for Ophthalmology experience.

  • Therapeutic Expertise (Preferred): In-depth knowledge of the specified therapeutic areas (Glaucoma, Dry Eye, and Infection), including the latest research and trends.

  • Strategic & Educational Track Record: Proven experience contributing to the development and execution of therapeutic area strategies and designing/implementing related education initiatives.

  • Project Management Acumen: Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify and address patient pain points and health system gaps.

  • KOL Engagement & Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate effectively with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and build strong professional relationships.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership capabilities to drive cross-functional collaboration and successfully lead projects to completion.

  • Essential Skills: Fluent English (spoken and written), proficiency in computer applications, and the ability to travel as business needs require.
