The NBM Team Manager plays a crucial role in finding opportunities for new business (In-house pipeline & External assets including business model/partnership) align with life cycle management point of view.
This position requires strategic thinking, market analysis, and business acumen to identify and evaluate potential opportunities in emerging therapeutic areas.
The NBM Team Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive business plans, assess market potential, and drive successful entry into new business areas.
This role is essential for the company's growth strategy and expansion into new markets.
Job Description
Strategic Business Planning and Execution
- Identify and assess opportunities in emerging therapeutic areas that align with the company's strategic objectives and growth plans.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive intelligence, and forecasting to evaluate the market potential and commercial viability of new therapeutic areas.
- Develop comprehensive business plans for entry into new business areas, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements. (Lead Go-To-Market Strategy development)
- Build and lead collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, KOLs, and regulatory bodies.
- Actively engage external stakeholders to gain insights, share information, and seek collaboration opportunities based on reliable partnership, credibility.
Business Development and Partnership
- Explore, identify and evaluate business models such as commercial partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities of internal/external pipeline to enrich business value and to support the entry into new business.
- Conduct due diligence and feasibility assessments of potential business opportunities, including market size, competitive landscape, unmet needs, and regulatory considerations.
- Proceed and provide the KR assessment result with collaborating GBD/Asia BD to realize the launch KR as well for global assets but also KR own assets.
- Lead communication with Santen’s corporate and regional functions and acquire necessary endorsement on subject projects.
- Navigates partnerships through effective communication with internal/external stakeholders to secure all necessary processes and keeping partnerships active and continued (supply, forecasting, finance, compliance, legal, medical etc.)
- Coordinate and manage amendments, renewals, and terminations of existing contracts, collaborating with relevant teams to uphold partnership agreements.
- Lead strategic initiatives in response to critical events that may threaten contract continuity, ensuring alignments with business objectives.
Regulatory Compliance and Ethical Standards
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Uphold high ethical standards in all interactions with healthcare providers, and external partners.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Lead collaboration and communication with global/region and local teams (CFU and cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal and Finance) to ensure alignment and integration of new business plans.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
- Development plans for fostering team members through daily management, coaching, and adjust plans for efficient human resource management (robust development plan and coaching across the all layer including successor).
- Develop business acumen for the next level of leadership and prepare capabilities to play roles in various functions for future career.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Science, Biology is preferred
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MD, PharmD, MPH, MBA, PhD) is a plus
- Comprehensive experience (minimum 7 years), overal working in Pharmaceutical more than 15 years is highly preferred and in strategic planning, business development, or commercial roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, preferably with a focus on Ophthalmology.
- Strong understanding of the drug development process, regulatory environment, and commercialization considerations in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and financial modelling skills to assess business opportunities and evaluate market potential.
- High-level communication/negotiation/presentation skills to understand and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans, including market assessment, competitive analysis, and launch strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, with a keen interest in exploring and evaluating new therapeutic areas and business opportunities.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory guidelines within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Passion for improving patient outcomes and driving innovation in healthcare.
- Fluent English, spoken & written
- Ability to travel (domestic or overseas) based on business needs
