Job Description
Job’s missions
The holder of this senior position will be main contact partner for all issues related to pricing topics across East Region markets: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia plus additionally Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Russia.
The main purpose of this role is to develop and implement strategies and activities that enable Santen to secure optimal national reimbursement at optimal prices for our current and future products in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia.
The holder will be a member of both the East Region Leadership Team, and will work closely with Cluster Heads and Country Managers. The holder will be as well member of the EMEA Pricing and Market Access team as a peer of the other local Market Access professionals across Europe. This position will report with solid line to the Vice President East Region and dotted line into EMEA Market Access Team.
This position will be based in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia or Bulgaria.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Responsible for national, and local Market Access landscape assessment (pricing, reimbursement, access, stakeholder mapping etc.) to identify local Market Access changes / trends which will influence access. Analyze their implications for Santen and identify the Market Access needs on on-going basis to ensure the alignment of business plans.
- Support the creation and maintaining a strategic market access plan for Santen both pre- and post-launch products by integrating the EMEA Market Access and Pricing Strategy in a coherent and actionable manner.
- Monitor and update of pricing strategy and governance / policy to maintain pricing on local level to ensure consistency on EMEA level for Santen’s products.
- Management of regional and local pricing related processes, in collaboration with different stakeholders – Country Manager (CM), Cluster Head, VP, Finance organization (i.e. initiate formal price approval process).
- Support of Business development and Strategic portfolio management activities with price and reimbursement potential analyses to support the central EMEA Market Access team.
- Supports the development and implementation of Public Affairs strategies, in line with the strategic priorities of the Company.
- Input during budget preparation and forecast exercises (i.e. price and Reimbursement considerations and Market Access investments)
- Support or lead the HTA submission and authority consultations on behalf of the P&MA team to articulate value and policy positions.
- Support in design, preparation, and tender relevant submissions to public formularies at local, and/or hospital level, ensuring appropriate access for Santen products with public payers.
- Build and manage relationships with the institutions (e.g. HTA bodies, payer organizations, payer advising KOLs) both at national and local level, to establish and consolidate fruitful partnerships for all involved parties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years Market Access related experience in healthcare industry.
- Operational background covering more than one country in Eastern Europe.
- Very good knowledge of pricing mechanisms and regulations in East Region.
- Ability to work cross-functionally as one team, navigate large complex organizations and successfully manage a high number of senior internal and external customers.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Structured, proactive and independent mindset.
- Master degree preferably in healthcare related studies or in science and/or business-related discipline.
- Having a strong network of P&MA experts in East Region (KOLs and payers included).
- Experience of developing and coordinating (responses to) Government consultation documents
- Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate complex and technical topics.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and at least one East Region language.
