Purpose of Role

This position is responsible for the mid-long term development of Taiwan Santen’s OTC business. Santen's OTC business unit is in development stage, and we have recently introduced many unique Japanese OTC eye drop products in the Taiwan market, maintaining good performance in the category. This role will further drive sales by improving engagement with our key accounts. It is a challenging but good opportunity to grow with Santen by leading direct sales with our key accounts & potential customers such as Watsons, Cosmed, Japanese drug stores & growing the retail pharmacy channels.

Job Description

Retail Customer Business Development

  • Develop customer business plan aligned with company and brand strategy
  • Lead joint business planning with key customers and hold regular business reviews and strategy meetings
  • Build strong relationships with customers to negotiate best space & location, promotion support, develop right assortment, shelving, pricing, and merchandising strategies unique to customers
  • Responsible to secure POP presence of the brand in responsible accounts
  • Follow up on daily management and implementation of defined activities with buyers/assistant contacts
  • Communicate with distributor with respect to logistics & after-sales to secure optimum service levels
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative key customer relationships to deliver preferred supplier status

Financials

  • Deliver on top line and bottom-line targets
  • Allocate & spend sales promotion expenses within budget
  • Negotiate trade terms with customers in line with corporate terms & conditions guidelines developed by trade marketing team
  • Advise POSM development to trade marketing to secure ROI

Team Management

  • Lead, develop and coach field sales team (3rd party) to achieve POP implementation
  • Work closely with trade marketing team and share markets, competition, channel and customer  insights to develop fit-for-use sales support tool kit as well as develop channel strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree+
  • More than five years’ experience in business development and managing Key Accounts across various channels including Personal Care Specialists & National Chain Pharmacies, Field sales or Trade marketing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge & experience in OTC Heath care/FMCG industries
  • Strong collaboration and analytical skills
  • Experience in managing customer meetings and initiative planning
  • Strong communication skills in Mandarin, both verbal and written, sufficient for structured commercial selling and negotiation.
  • Fluent in English or Japanese is a plus

  • Familiar with Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong Leadership skills, you will lead in the envisioning of the future of business
