Job's mission

  • HR Business Partner for the Nordics commercial organization and for the EMEA Regulatory Affairs function
  • Responsible for end-to-end HR activities and HR compliance across the Nordics region (Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) with support from 1 HR Specialist
  • Member of the EMEA HR Leadership Team and the Nordics Management Board

Job Description

Key activities & Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the seamless delivery and optimization of employee life cycle HR activities to line managers and employees. This covers and is not limited to recruitment, onboarding, transfers & promotions, compensation & benefits, off-boarding, absence management (sick leave, vacations management, parental leaves, etc…), performance management, etc.
  • As an HR Business Partner: maintain ongoing contact with managers and employees, act as a sparring partner and advisor on HR-related topics. As a member of the Nordics management team, provide regular updates and visibility about the HR agenda and priorities. Support business reviews preparation and the headcount management as part of the global financial planning process.
  • With the support of 1 HR-Specialist, accountable for end-to-end HR Operations in the region, with appropriate compliance & controls in place, in respect of legislation and Santen Policies & Standards. This covers and is not limited to payroll, pension, insurances, benefits, Long Term Incentive, GDPR, Employee Assistance Program, HR documentation and archives, HR budget management
    • Provide coaching and development to the HR Specialist
    • Monitor relations with external partners and providers
  • Responsible for Union relations and related requirements. Act as the Labor Law reference person and work closely with the Legal Department or External Counsels when needed.
  • Support end-to-end local recruitment: support line managers to define needs, and select candidates for temporary or permanent positions, propose comp package in collaboration with C&B and ensure positive candidate experience and efficient onboarding process
  • Work in close collaboration with the Regional VP and Management Board to drive activities that contribute to grow the Santen Culture: Inclusion, Company Values, Well Being, Employee Engagement, Ethics & Compliance, Performance & Development, etc…
  • Responsible for HR budget in scope
  • As a member of the People & Organization Leadership Team (POLT, EMEA), lead ad hoc projects and/or Champion corporate initiatives such as flexible work arrangements (“New Work Style”); digital workplace; new P&D process; ATS, Corporate Values; Becoming a Social Innovator to deliver happiness through vision etc.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • University or Master degree ideally with an elective in Business Administration, HR, Law or Economics
  • Certifications in coaching (ICF or similar), Project Management, or Leadership certifications will be a plus

Experience

  • 7-10 years of effective HR Generalist / HRBP experience in Finland, preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Experience working across the Nordics countries.
  • Working across other EMEA countries will be a plus.
  • Life Sciences Industry experience will be a plus.

Competencies & Success Profile

  • Ability to manage a team (1 person) to provide direction and support for Employee Lifecycle matters, HR operations, HR compliance, HR Policies and Standards, Payroll, Insurances (Finland mandatory), Labor Legislation (Finland mandatory), Absence Management including sick leaves, etc..
  • Act as change agent, drive change effectively, deal with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Organization development knowledge/experience will be a plus.
  • Proactively look for ways to increase internal customer satisfaction and ensure high customer orientation in the team
  • Ambassador of Santen´s culture and values
  • Business acumen and ability to translate business needs into “People” solutions in a pragmatic manner
  • Effective and clear communication skills at all levels, complemented by facilitation and presentation skills
  • Well organized, shows ability to prioritize tasks and work in autonomy, while being a team player
  • Fluent in business English and in Finnish (written and spoken). Additional languages will be a plus
