Job Description
Category Manager, Supplier Management (Korea)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support supplier management, supply assurance, risk monitoring, contract execution, and operational procurement activities for assigned categories. Serves as the primary local interface between Sandisk and key suppliers in Korea while contributing to broader category management objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management & Governance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring timely communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular business reviews, operational meetings, executive engagements, and escalation discussions to drive alignment and issue resolution.
- Supplier Risk Monitoring & Escalation
- Monitor supplier business conditions, financial health, capacity, operational performance, market dynamics, upstream supply chain and supply risks.
- Provide proactive risk assessments, early warning signals, and timely escalation of issues that may impact supply continuity, cost, quality, delivery, or strategic objectives.
Operational Coordination & Supply Assurance
- Coordinate closely with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering teams to address supply challenges and support uninterrupted business operations.
- Track supplier commitments, capacity allocation, lead times, recovery plans, and mitigation activities to support supply assurance.
Contract Execution & Compliance Management
- Support the implementation and execution of commercial agreements, LTAs, pricing agreements, and other supplier commitments.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and ensure timely follow-up and closure of action items.
- Action Tracking & Follow-Up
- Drive accountability by tracking key supplier and internal action items through closure.
- Monitor progress against commitments, corrective actions, recovery plans, audits, and strategic initiatives.
Supplier Performance Management
- Establish and maintain performance scorecards and reporting mechanisms to evaluate supplier performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness, capacity, service, and commercial metrics.
- Support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and supplier continuous improvement initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Business Monitoring
- Monitor industry trends, supplier developments, competitive landscape, geopolitical factors, and market conditions relevant to assigned categories.
- Communicate key insights, opportunities, and risks to procurement leadership and business stakeholders.
Category Management Support
- Support the development and execution of category strategies by providing supplier-specific insights, market intelligence, operational feedback, and risk assessments.
- Participate in sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, cost reduction initiatives, negotiations, and strategic procurement projects as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor degree or above with any relevant field.
- At least 5 years+ procurement related experience.
- In-depth knowledge on Semiconductor Supply Chain
- Proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, but demonstrated ability to work well with people.
- Proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Influential and persuasive relationships with senior / executive management internally and with suppliers
Skills:
- Good computer skill on Office software (PPT, Excel, Word)
