Job Description

Looking for a Firmware Integration Engineer who will own the end-to-end integration, validation, and release readiness of SSD firmware builds across multiple programs.

Orchestrate CI/CD pipelines, ensure stable merges, drive regression quality, maintain release discipline, and partner closely with development, validation, lab, and program teams to ship reliable firmware at speed.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical acumen with proven leadership skills to manage a high-performing team and collaborate across cross-functional groups.

Key Responsibilities

Firmware Integration & Release Management:

- Own branch strategy, merge cadence, and conflict resolution across feature, integration, and release branches

- Manage build pipelines (CI/CD), pre-merge validations, and post-build sanity gates; maintain “green light” builds.

- Manage release documentation, version control, and compliance with internal and external standards

- Architect and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows.

- Continuously improve integration efficiency and reduce release cycle time through automation and tooling.

- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability and scalability of build systems.

 

Firmware Regression & Quality Assurance:

- Define and oversee regression testing strategies for firmware releases.

- Monitor test coverage, failure trends, and quality metrics to ensure robust firmware performance.

- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for integration-related issues.

- Improve pipeline speed, reliability, and coverage; automate repetitive integration tasks.

- Contribute to standards for commit hygiene, code reviews, and test data quality.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work with lab engineers for bench runs, instrumentation, power/perf profiling, and hardware bring-up

- Act as a key liaison between development, validation, systems, and product teams.

- Contribute to triage dashboards, status reports, and integration health metrics.

Qualifications

- BE/B.Tech /ME/ M.Tech in Computer Science or Software / Computer / Electrical Engineering, Electronics

- 2 to 4 years of experience in firmware development/integration

- Understanding of SSD architecture, firmware lifecycle, and embedded systems is an advantage

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), scripting (Python, Bash), and version control (Git)

- Basic proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python/Shell) for automation and triage
