Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The FG WH Automation Development Technician will assist the FG WH Automation Engineer in managing automation projects within the Finished Goods Warehouse. This role involves tracking project status, creating Work Instructions (WI) for new projects, and ensuring proper handover to the sustaining team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in automation project handling, preferably from an automation house, and possess technical knowledge in PLC, machine language, robotics, and software systems.

  • Support FG WH Automation Engineer in project follow-up and status reporting.
  • Develop and document Work Instructions (WI) for new automation projects.
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth handover of projects to sustaining teams.
  • Assist in equipment setup, testing, and commissioning for new automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and compliance with safety standards
  • Responsible for improving and sustaining the FG & WH automation equipment capability and meet the KPI (Availability, OEE and Yield)
  • Performing and line troubleshooting and supporting daily production operation.
  • Analyze equipment failure root causes and propose corrective actions.
  • Ability to identify root cause and provide corrective action through use of Effective problem solving tools.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify equipment root cause.
  • Maintain equipment maintenance documentation and checklist.
  • Propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Support equipment setup, relocation and retirement.
  • Assist Engineer in continuous Equipment improvement projects and Automation projects
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, motivation, and willingness to work proactively either independently or within the team. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems and warehouse operations.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in Robotic Transportation, Automatic Robotic Storage & Material Management System.
  • Experience working in an automation house or similar environment.
  • Familiar with SPC, TPM, OEE, OCAP, RCA, Working Instruction.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of FG and WH Automatic Robotic storage equipment/process would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in machine control system such as Robotic Arm, PLC, sensors, relays and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic systems, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
  • Ability to create clear and comprehensive Work Instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge in vision system will be added advantage.
