Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Staff engineer to lead our technical team in providing memory storage test solutions for new and existing products within a dynamic and high volume manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the development and implementation of advanced test engineering strategies to ensure product performance, quality and manufacturing efficiency for our cutting-edge storage products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the primary technical owner for product performance in High Volume Manufacturing.
- Optimize Test Strategies: Design and execute efficient test plans, test time, yield, and quality to meet factory financial goals. Identify cost-effective testing methods through troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and Collaborate on Engineering Solutions: Lead and implement innovative engineering solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success under competitive timeline.
- Champion Innovation and Cost Efficiency: Collaboratively integrate advanced testing technologies, research, and adopt cost-saving solutions like Test Time Reduction (TTR) and new test platforms, driving CAPEX reduction. Continuously improve test programs and test infrastructure to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Inhouse Tester (SHRACKU) Ownership: Lead the development, integration, and maintenance of inhouse test platform (SHRACKU), focusing on Linux-based control, network IP, and USB protocol validation to ensure test stability and scalability in HVM.
- Technical Expertise and Support: Provide leadership in electrical failure analysis (EFA), exploring new test method/EFA technique to address RMAs, production, reliability, and DPPM improvement. Analyze test results and deliver reports to stakeholders with actionable insights for improvement.
- Technical Communication and Documentation: Develop and deliver clear, concise technical reports and documentation, including EFA, work instructions, test equipment guidelines, test reports, and specifications.
- NPI Support: Co-lead NPI projects with NPI team, ensuring smooth transfer of test technology from LVM to mass production.
- Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and facilitate knowledge transfer through technical training.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in semiconductor product or test engineering.
- Strong technical foundation in test engineering for memory or semiconductor devices within High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
- Proficient in problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA, DMAIC, and Fishbone analysis, as well as statistical tools including SPC, SBL, and SYL.
- Familiar with Flip Chip technology and its impact on product performance and reliability.
- Solid understanding of network IP integration, communication protocols, and tester connectivity across distributed environments.
- Proven hands-on experience with ATE test platform operation, setup, correlation, and troubleshooting for yield and test efficiency improvement.
PREFFERED:
- Deep understanding of Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) testing, failure mechanisms, and Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) techniques.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Proficiency in Linux OS for test automation, scripting, and system integration.
- Practical programming ability in Python, SQL, C++, and Java for test development and data automation.
- Experience with USB protocol test, validation, and debug using analyzers or compliance tools.
- Demonstrated success in developing, debugging, and optimizing test programs to improve yield, performance, and cost efficiency.
SKILLS:
- Skilled in test program development and optimization, focusing on yield improvement, test time reduction, and test coverage enhancement.
- Familiar with instrumentation interfaces such as SPI, UART and ATE communication standards.
- Proficient in data analysis and root cause identification using Python, SQL, or JMP.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous technical learning and innovation.
- Proven ability to lead a technical team while remaining hands-on in execution within a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and technical communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively and consistently meet production and quality targets.
- Strong capability to lead and mentor a technical team and deliver objectives autonomously.
