Job Description

Sanden International (Europe) GmbH is looking for a Electro Hydraulic Engineer (f/m/d) in Bad Nauheim in full time. You will be part of our EE Hardware Engineering department which is developing cutting-edge technologies for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Electrical compressors (EC) in the European market. Be part of the disruptive innovation to be launched with the Integrated Thermal Management System (ITMS). Bring your ideas to life by integrating this innovation into vehicle’s thermal management, providing cabin comfort.

Essential responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  1. Design Power Electronic and Hydraulic system for HVAC and EC applications
  2. Select Thermal Management System (TMS) and EC components, define system architecture based on initial product requirements
  3. Write technical specification and design justification documents
  4. Lead Electrical and Hydraulic testing for inverter, expansion valves, actuator and solenoids – on mock-ups internally or on industrialized products at the client’s site
  5. Manage suppliers and project to ensure timely program deliverables within budget
  6. Oversee Hardware (HW) development schedule and milestones accuracy across the teams and report to internal project leaders
  7. Develop and maintain electrical D-FMEA standard
  8. Assist with advanced troubleshooting
  9. Upgrade cost/efficiency of current Sanden products

Other responsibilities:

  1. Provide new technical ideas for patent applications and future product generations
  2. Support purchasing in supplier evaluations and selection
  3. Collaborate with engineering on mechanical design to integrate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) with overall product design
  4. Train EE team and other departments on simulation

      Qualifications

      Required experience and education:

      • 3 years of experience in the automotive sector with a hydraulic orientation
      • Master’s in Electrical Engineering or similar field

      Your Must Haves:

      1. Expertise in Power Electronic Design
      2. Proficiency of Power technologies such as IGBT, MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, GaN, Inverter and Fast gate drivers
      3. Understanding of Electronic cards: analog and digital electronics, thermal, dielectric and mechanical integration
      4. Skills in simulation softwares (LTspice, Matlab, Simscape)
      5. Knowledge of automotive bus communication (CAN & LIN)
      6. Ability to hold a technical discussion about fluid systems (expansion valves, actuator and solenoids)
      7. Strong command of verbal English, allowing for clear articulation of ideas, concepts, thoughts and complex information in multicultural teams
      8. Polyvalent spirit and ability to switch from design to hands-on phases
      9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven and demanding environment
      10. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills with teams of different disciplines

      Your Nice-to-Haves:

      1. Demonstrated experience in HV and LV DC/DC converters, EMC design or ITMS/HVAC system design
      2. Knowledge and experience of automotive standards (V cycle, ASPICE, ASIL)
      3. Knowledge of Altium software
      4. Experience in root cause analysis.
      5. Creative problem-solving skills
      6. Awareness of existing market solutions in thermal engineering
      7. Customer support experience
