Job Description
Job Summary
- Contribute to the improvement of the site quality by handling quality issues on the site in general according to the corporate and project quality standards
- Responsible for preparing quality activities in accordance with quality management system established
- Carrying out inspections on discipline Responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result
- Ensuring inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix
Roles and Responsibilities
- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix
- Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP & managing Matrix)
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly
- Performing and coordinating inspection with client
- Performing inspections on particular disciplines and recording its results on the forms as per ITP established
- Updating inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix
- Preparing the Inspection records to be reflected on MC Doc.
- Performing surveillance that tests are conducted as per international codes and standards
- Reporting nonconformities and observations found during inspections to QC Supervisors and QC Managers
- Coordinating inspections with client inspectors
- Preparing NCRs under QC Supervisor or QC Manger’s directions
- Prepare, review and track material submittals required for the discipline Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings
- Generating client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.\
- Carrying out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence
- Conducting Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to discipline Definable Features of Work.
- Reviewing and tracking material submittals required for the discipline Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings
Discipline Specific
- Application of HVAC engineering principles and practices
- Design and installation of HVAC systems
- Implementing HVAC codes and standards (e.g. ASHRAE)
- Understanding of HVAC drawings and specifications
- Quality control and inspection techniques for HVAC systems
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field
Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in QA/QC inspections
- Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience
- Experience in oil / gas / petrochemical or power plants
- Engineering & Construction Company working experience
Knowledge or Certification
- Welding : (1) AWS as a CWI, or (2) TWI CL as a CSWIP 3.1 WI, or (3) an approved equivalent certification level and scheme.
- Mechanical : API 510, 570, 653 (for inspection of pressure vessels, piping, and storage tanks)
- Coating : SAEP-316 Level II by (1) NACE as CIP, or (2) SSPC as PCI, or (3) TWI CL as BGAS-CSWIP, or (4) an Approved equivalent certification scheme required for the WORK.
- Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Level II
- ASNT Level II or III
- NACE CIP Level 1 (for coating inspection), CIP level 2(for Cathodic Protection)
Technical and Behavioral Competency
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Inspection techniques and tools, material testing methods, and documentation.
- Advanced inspection techniques and tools, material testing methods, and documentation.
- Well versed in MS Office
- Attention to detail
- Ability to analyse and solve complex problems and to work collaboratively
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Discipline knowledge and experience in Air handling units, ventilation systems, ductwork, chiller plants, cooling towers
