Job Description
General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
- Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes & standards.
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and performing inspection of Mechanical discipline.
- Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
- Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP & managing matrix).
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
- Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
- Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
- Control quality violations through regular toolbox talk with the construction team.
- Review and track material submittals required for Mechanical Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Mechanical Definable Features of Work.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
- Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
- Monitor and inspect specific Mechanical related activities such as site erection of static and rotating equipment.
- Ensure critical mechanical activities such as rotating equipment flange parallelism, final alignment and final inspection to be conducted as per Contract, Specification and Requirements.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Certified by API (API 653 and API 510)
Experience
- Aramco experience us a must, if you have SAP No. and pass the CBT, please mention it in your CV.
- Overall experience of 5 years with 3 years in Inspection speciality or field and 2 years in managing the contract scope of work.
- Have direct work experience and thorough knowledge of static and rotating mechanical equipment, commodities, materials construction, Pre-Commissioning and quality activities required for the work.
Knowledge
- Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
- Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
- Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions.
- Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar).
- Should possess thorough knowledge of work-related engineering codes and standards, such as ASTM, API, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA, ASME BPVC (Sections I, V, VIII and IX); ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and B73; NACE SPs, API 620, API 650 and AWS D1.1
- Should possess thorough knowledge of mechanical process systems inspection and testing; procedures, tools and test equipment used in receiving, storage, fabrication, erection, construction and Pre-commissioning of steam and combustion turbines, diesel engines, pumps, compressors, motors and generators, mixers and agitators, fans, gearboxes, firewater pumps and motors, auxiliary cooling and lubrication systems, packaged process equipment, pipe, pipe fittings, valves, pressure vessels, fired heaters, tanks, structural steel, hot/cold insulation and other equipment and commodities as required for the work.
