Job Description
General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Review technical specifications and prepare Quality Assurance Plans, QC.
- Monitor NDE Procedures and assist with establishing acceptable working Practices for Construction activities.
- Monitor UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, PMI, PAUT/ToFD, HT NDT methods and Pre-Heat, PWHT of welded joints and chart review of Post Weld Heat Treated (PWHT) joints.
- Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
- Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
- To carry out surveillance activities relating to Quality and NDE inspection in-house and external vendors.
- To be able to understand and interpret complex blueprints / engineering drawings and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and performing inspection of NDT activities.
- Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
- Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
- Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
- Carry out QC Supervisor's responsibility in their absence.
- Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
- Review and track material submittals required for NDT Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to NDT Definable Features of Work.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
- Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
- Ensure all the personnel employed and operating in NDT and PWHT activities is duly skilled and qualified in accordance with the applicable specifications, codes and regulations as per requirement of client.
- Interpret and evaluate NDT Results including radiographic films.
- Perform UT, MT, PT on material during the Raw, Semi-machined, Final machined.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- The candidate shall have a university degree and a total of seven (7) years of experience in inspection, or a high school diploma with a total of ten (10) years of experience in inspection.
- As minimum, the candidate shall have three (3) years directly relating to supervision of construction activities in the Contract Scope of WORK (e.g. oil, gas and petrochemical projects, Infrastructure, communication).
Knowledge
- Quality Control Inspection in Positive Material Identification
Job Specific Specialty
- Inspector shall be a High School graduate, or higher; shall be fully conversant with applicable Industry Standards and Specifications; and shall perform a variety of inspection functions with minimal supervision
- Overall Experience: 5 years
- Experience in Inspection Specialty : 3 years
- Contract Scope of Work : 2 years
Technical Skills and Competencies
- As minimum, the candidate shall have three (5) years directly relating to supervision of construction activities in the Contract Scope of Work (e.g. oil, gas and petrochemical projects, Infrastructure, communication).
- Inspector shall have understanding of ARAMCO Standards and Procedures such as SAES-A-206, SAIC-L-2004 and SAIC-L-2010
- Technical knowledge in Positive Material Identification discipline and familiar with ASME SEC II, Parts A,B and C or the relevant ASTM or any other material specification.
