Job Description
Mobile Unit Driver / Customer Service Associate
Responsible for assisting the Migrant Health Director in all aspects of the Migrant Health Program including services offered in the Mobile Unit, administrative and clinical procedures to assure high-quality services.
Performs the driving and general maintenance as well as cleaning and stocking of the Mobile Unit Approaches his/her tasks in a team-based care fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change

Specific Duties:
- Drivse the Mobile Unit from the assigned parking space to the scheduled location within the migrant program activities
- Inspects the Mobile Unit every time it will be used using the “Mobile Unit Inspection Report” making sure the vehicle is in adequate condition to be used
- Patient registration and check-in, include the standard processes as well as assisting patients in completing paperwork, reviewing program qualifications, and enrollment to the agricultural program
- Monitors inventory from Mobile Unit assuring medical supplies are always sufficient before going out to a location
- Provides reports of inventory (supplies) to the Migrant Health Director
- As a Salud representative, attends community meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. as assigned
- Assists in the assurance of providing good quality services during visits in the Mobile Unit
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required
- Keeps the Mobile Unit clean (including sweeping and moping of the floors, cleaning of counters and other surfaces of the Mobile Unit)
- In case maintenance of the engine, chassis, or the airstream is needed, schedule repair through the Migrant Health Director
- Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associate, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated healthcare
- Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
- Follows procedures for the electronic health records system
- Performs other duties including health activities as assigned by the Migrant Health Director.
- Outreach activities in coordination with the Migrant Health Director
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- At least two years working in a cross-cultural healthcare environment preferred
- Experience driving and maintenance of large vehicles
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This person must possess:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- The ability to work independently
- Understand medical terminology and be familiar with CPT ICDM and other coding systems
- Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with community partners
- Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must work well with the patient care team
- Knowledge of vehicles maintenance, and experience driving large vehicles
- Knowledge of Colorado’s driving laws
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Skilled driver
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
- Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a requirement
- Bilingual English/Spanish mastery (required)
