Job Description

Center Operations Director 

We’re seeking a Center Operations Director who has the drive and passion to support a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Beautiful Estes Park, Colorado.

Ensures the clinic site operates effectively, efficiently, and consistently with the Salud model of care delivery, focusing on Salud’s mission and goals included in the strategic plan.   The Center Operations Director approaches tasks in a team-based fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.  

Provides senior leadership at the clinic and manages all aspects of the clinic’s health care delivery system, excluding direct patient care and clinical protocols which is led by the site Medical Director or Dental Director.  Senior leadership functions shall be carried out through the implementation of a leadership team approach to shared decision-making among the Medical Director, Dental Director, and Center Operations Director; however, this position has lead decision-making authority at the clinic.

We offer:

  • Starting annual salary range - $59,357 to $68,261

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing, or other health-related fields strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A Master’s degree in a health-related field is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Experience:

  • Three years of experience managing and leading a health clinic that targets low-income, underserved populations and/or other supervisory experience  

Licensure/Certification:

  • Not required, however, licensure/certification in nursing or other health-related fields is preferred

If the Center Operations Director is licensed/credentialed to perform health care services such as Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Behavioral health work, and is fully credentialed/privileged through Salud; they may assist in these areas with supervisory approval due to unforeseen circumstances

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, objectives, structures, team building, and culture change
  • Must work well with the other patient care team members
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, medical/dental staff, and the public.  Ability to manage difficult or angry patients
  • Effective organizational, time management, and delegation skills
  • Knowledge of medical records, medical dictation, and medical communication systems
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications
  • Knowledge of fiscal management.
  • Skill in leadership, management, and direct supervision of employees including administering disciplinary action and performance evaluations 
  • Skill in planning, organizing, coordination,g and project management
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems
  • Ability to create a clinical atmosphere that encourages motivation, innovation, and high performance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in public settings
  • Experience with project management preferred
  • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
