Saltside Technologies develops and operates websites in emerging markets, with focus set on online classified sites. Currently Saltside operates the top classified sites in Sri Lanka (ikman.lk), Bangladesh (Bikroy) and Ghana (Tonaton).

Saltside is seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to help our fast growing development team in Bangalore, India. You will play an important role and be a part of creating a product used by millions of people.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced web applications for desktop browsers, mobile web & feature phone
• You work in agile cross-functional team to create great customer experiences and implement high quality code in to production
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• You prioritize performance in all your development - both network and rendering

• Overall 5+ years of Engineering experience from which at least 3 - 4 years of experience in creating web application backend using node.js and 1+ experience in React.JS/PWA
• At least 3 years of experience working with JavaScript, (Semantic) HTML5, CSS3
• Hands-on experience with a MV* framework, such as Backbone.js
• Experience with a utility library, such as Underscore.js, jQuery OR Zepto
• Experience with HTML templating using Jade(now pug)/Mustache/erb, or similar library
• Experience in creating mobile-friendly UIs not only targeting smartphones, but feature phones as well (e.g. Opera Mini devices)
• Understanding of adaptive and responsive design, and the combination of them
• Worked in Agile teams in cross functional teams
• Experience creating automated unit tests and functional test
