Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer. Work with the chief of DevOps to manage deployments of multiple different critical platform services in Amazon AWS under (initially) Elastic Beanstalk for a top-50 cryptocurrency and a very popular social sharing site.

  • Work directly with the DevOps team to test system integrity
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Test implemented designs
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development

This is a remote role. Your primary points of contact with the team will be Slack, email, and Google Hangouts.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ year’s experience in a senior DevOps role
  • Comfortable with the AWS console 
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration 
  • Good understanding of defense-in-depth and associated security primitives
  • Be able to collaborate with engineers to rapidly debug production issues 
  • Have a strong desire to automate things that haven't been automated yet
  • Previous experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies
  • Experience configuring and managing data sources like MySQL, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc
