Job Description
Within the Global Sustainability department, the Sustainability & Product Compliance Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that Salomon meets global sustainability and product regulatory requirements, materials certification standards, and maintains robust value chain traceability, while continuously developing the maturity of Salomon’s Compliance Management System.
The role sits at the intersection of sustainability, product development, compliance, quality, legal and sourcing, and plays a key role in safeguarding product integrity, regulatory compliance, and the credibility of sustainability claims.
This role also includes the supervision and development of a small team, and the coordination of compliance-related governance at both Salomon and Amer Sports levels.
You will work in close collaboration with Salomon Product Business Units, Quality teams, Legal Department, as well as Amer Sports Compliance and Sourcing teams. Depending on regulatory topics and projects, you will also collaborate with other functions such as Commercial, Marketing and Logistics teams.
Key Objectives

- Strengthen value chain traceability and materials certification
- Develop a structured Compliance Management System at Salomon
- Strengthen governance and cross‑functional alignment within Salomon and with Amer Sports Compliance & Sourcing teams
Main Responsibilities
1. Sustainability, Product Compliance and Regulatory Management
- Define, implement, and continuously improve sustainability and product compliance standards and processes.
- Ensure that materials, components, and finished products comply with applicable global regulations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential risks and impacts on Salomon products.
- Conduct targeted regulatory monitoring aligned with Salomon’s product categories and business models, in complement to group‑level regulatory watch.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear implementation plans for Salomon and oversee their execution.
2. Chemicals Management
- Drive chemical management across products and materials.
- Act as subject matter expert on chemical compliance and restricted substances.
- Oversee the assessment and mitigation of chemical and process‑related risks.
- Partner with Materials, Innovation and Quality teams to balance performance, compliance, and sustainability.
3. Value Chain Traceability
- End‑to‑end value chain traceability
- Support deployment of end‑to‑end traceability requirements & plans at material and product level in alignment with Amer Sports traceability plan and key internal stakeholders (sourcing, materials, product, IT, etc.).
- Support supply chain mapping and identify traceability risks, gaps, and priority areas.
- Contribute to the development of robust, audit‑ready traceability and chain‑of‑custody processes.
- Ensure traceability data integrity, quality, consistency, reliability, structuration and maintenance across systems, tools and processes.
- Support the efficiency, alignment, and proper use of PLM, compliance, and traceability systems.
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation and reporting.
- Materials certification & chain of custody
- Manage materials certification schemes.
- Ensure chain‑of‑custody compliance across suppliers and production sites.
- Track certification scope, validity, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Support the strategic deployment and scaling of certified materials across product lines.
- Leverage traceability data to enable impact measurement and credible claims, in collaboration with sustainability tools & data team and communication team.
4. Compliance Management System & Maturity Development
Design, implement, and continuously improve Salomon’s Compliance Management System (CMS).
- Develop and maintain:
- Compliance policies, standards, and procedures
- Clear roles, responsibilities, and governance
- Risk identification, escalation, and mitigation processes
- Develop a roadmap for continuous compliance maturity improvement
- Promote, structure and develop a culture of compliance within Salomon (processes, tools, knowledge, mindset).
5. Governance, Coordination & Representation
- Salomon internal governance
- Lead and facilitate the Salomon Sustainability & Product Compliance Working Group.
- Ensure alignment between Product, Sustainability, Quality, Legal, and Supply Chain teams.
- Amer Sports Representation
- Act as Salomon’s point of contact and representative within the Amer Sports Product Compliance Network.
- Act as Salomon’s point of contact and representative within Amer Sports sourcing’s traceability projects.
- Contribute to group‑level standards, tools, best practices, and governance.
- Ensure effective two‑way alignment between Amer Sports requirements and Salomon implementation.
6. Team Supervision & Capability Building
- Supervise and mentor a small team of direct reports.
- Support capability building and knowledge sharing across the organization.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
- You have 10+ years of experience in product compliance, sustainability, materials, or responsible product development (apparel, footwear or equipment) across comparable industries such as outdoor, sports, automotive, or pharmaceutical.
- You have a strong expertise in product compliance, with either a dedicated compliance background or a hybrid legal + product profile.
- Strong expertise in sustainability, responsible supply chains, product regulations, chemical compliance, and material risk management.
- Proven ability to work with materials certification systems and chain-of-custody requirements, as well as a solid understanding of traceability systems.

Desired Qualifications
- Education: You have a degree in Textiles, Materials Science, Product Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent in both French and English.
