Job Description

As the Sales Planning Manager Wholesale EMEA W/M, you will work closely with the Commercial Leadership Team to coordinate and lead business planning processes that support Salomon’s B2B business across the region. 

You will lead account planning and sales planning across the full Salomon portfolio, ensuring data‑driven decision making – strengthening the Sales organization by establishing a structured planning function and building a robust forecasting process.  

Working at the intersection of Sales, Merchandising and Planning, you will transform commercial insights into actionable strategies that support sustainable growth across EMEA. 

Lead Sales Planning & Team Development 

  • Lead and develop a team, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement in analytical capabilities 
  • Own the sales planning process for the full product portfolio across EMEA and implement structured account planning frameworks 
  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Merchandising and Planning to define pre‑season assumptions and commercial targets 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen planning processes and analytical support.  

Deliver Data‑Driven Commercial Insights 

  • Produce and consolidate sell‑through reporting, analyze key sales metrics, and ensure data accuracy across the region 
  • Collaborate with internal teams on market mapping, stock and sales planning, ROI analysis and sell‑out improvement 
  • Drive quantitative and qualitative analysis to benchmark products, consumers, industries and competitors 
  • Provide ad‑hoc data analysis to Leadership teams 

Support In‑Season Business Performance 

  • Identify opportunities for re‑orders, stock optimization and overstock management to maximize in‑season performance 
  • Build commercial action plans for accounts and support in distribution development 
  • Provide data‑driven recommendations to support business growth and strategic KPIs 
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects that enhance digital B2B capabilities and overall commercial performance 

Drive Strategic Analysis & Franchise Management 

  • Lead the Franchise Management process at account level, including mid‑season and end‑of‑season reviews 
  • Contribute to improving sell‑out coverage and analytical capabilities across EMEA 
  • Build a strong Sales Data Analysts community by sharing best practices, tools and processes 
  • Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising and Marketing teams to improve sell‑out coverage and strengthen analytical rigor.  

Qualifications

Essential skills & experience 

  • You possess 7–10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the sports, retail or FMCG industries 
  • Proven experience improving planning processes, building business metrics and driving continuous improvement 
  • Team management experience is strongly preferred

  • Relationship building: You utilise inter-personal skills to support a positive work environment; interpreting and reacting positively to emotional cues, building effective relationships. You can build additive relationships that are continually mutually beneficial and foster proactive communication between stakeholder groups 
  • Communication: you possess good emotional intelligence to be able to adapt style accordingly to different circumstances and audiences. Able to pick up on cues and respond effectively. You are able to influence teams and stakeholders, navigate and provide sharp updates such as financial quarterly updates. 

Desired qualifications 

  • Languages: Fluent in English; French is a plus 
  • IT: Proficiency in business software, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
