Job Description

The Retail Marketing & Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for bringing the retail marketing strategy to life in North America. They will enhance and coordinate our retail ecosystem by translating our brand story into immersive, on-the-ground retail experiences that engage consumers and drive sales.

In this role, you will act as the conduit to the global brand retail experience team and ensure localization of campaigns, tools and platforms as you help create a consistent, global brand experience for Salomon.

This role will focus on both Sportstyle and Performance with an emphasis on accelerating and executing our retail presence in our defined epicenters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily: 

Retail Brand Marketing: 

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of retail marketing campaigns that amplify seasonal storytelling, product launches, and promotional moments across retail locations 
  • Key partner and point of contact with creative partners - work with internal and external creative partners to develop our seasonal DTC Retail initiatives. Deliver creative briefs to creative agencies and oversee the progression of the creative process ensuring accuracy of all deliverables and final execution, remaining on budget and meeting timelines. Maintain and manage a roster of creative agencies to work with on various concepting and production projects to bring seasonal campaigns, elevated marketing, and special projects to life 
  •  Responsible for developing the retail marketing calendar inclusive of in-store displays, events and digital activation including our CRM programs 
  • Work closely with sportstyle and performance brand teams to understand regional marketing plans and what role retail plays in our launch strategy 

Community, Events and Activation: 

  • Be the link between the brand and retail staff by assisting with day-of coordination for retail events, community meet ups and in-store happenings with store staff 
  • Provide retail point of view on event trends and experiences at retail and identify opportunities to engage consumers as they align with our global activation guidelines 
  • Work closely with store managers to establish run of show and event success metrics  
  • Work closely with field marketing team to align on partnerships, events and ambassador network 
  • Be the direct contact to bring S/PLUS (Salomon loyalty program) activations and promotions to life at retail 

Store Visual Merchandising and Operations 

  • Support new store openings with tailored marketing and visual merchandising strategies to create strong first impressions in new markets 
  • Monitor campaign performance and store feedback, leveraging insights to optimize future rollouts and visual presentation standards and relay to the global team 
  • Responsible for marketing metrics on retail score card through assigned tracking and reporting  
  • Own the local vendor partnerships for basic marketing operations- food/drink pop ups, flowers, props and other visual merchandising materials 
  • Support Retail Director in all in-store merchandising needs. These include fixtures and fittings, window displays and sensory elements (scent, sound, etc) 
  • Manage the marketing budget for each store 
  • Responsible for coordinating product, visual merchandising and campaign training  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience. 
  • Over 8 years of experience in retail 
  • In-store marketing experience and visual merchandising are prioritized 
  • Experience working with staff, employees and groups over 10 people to drive retail execution 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams through effective project briefing and teamwork. 
  • Experienced in implementing and co-creating strategic plans that align with company goals 
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills 
  • Knowledge of current retail landscape with an emphasis on fashion, lifestyle and running trends 
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with global/local experience being an advantage. 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively. 
  • Skilled in identifying and reporting on the return on investment for category projects. 

Additional Information

Salary Range: At the time of this posting, the estimated salary pay range is from $110,000 USD to $130,000 USD. This range varies depending on the market location. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-specific skills, relevant experience, education, and training. 

Please note that the mentioned pay range represents the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits package.
