We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with excellent technical and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and who takes pride in producing quality work with a high degree of accuracy and superior attention to detail. An ideal candidate will have experience with using 3D software for structural drafting / design in an engineering consulting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with engineers to develop structural drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data, to be issued for a wide range of industries.

• Perform drafting using AutoCAD and Revit to develop structural (and civil) drawings

• Drawings to include plans, sections, details, and general notes.

• Checking and revising drawings

• Preparing and assisting in the release of drawings and documentation for projects

• Prepare material schedules and Bill of Materials (BOM)

• Performing calculations in accordance with established methods

• Actively working on improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of structural design though self-training, in-house training, and external courses

• Diploma in “Structural & Civil Technology” or equivalent educational background from a recognized technical institute or university
• Minimum of 8 year of practical experience in preparing structural drawings (plans, elevation, and details) within an engineering consulting firm (or operational environment)
• General understanding of buildings and their construction, with details of structural steel framing and reinforced concrete foundations, etc.
• Experience to include structural steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Proven experience and high competency using AutoCAD required.
• General use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam Revit.
• Highly proficient with Revit is required
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work as a team in a multi-discipline environment
• Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French
