Job Description

Sacré-Davey currently has an opportunity for a Senior Sales/Business Development Specialist, based out of our Calgary office. This position will be focused on the oil and gas sector, but will be expected to support Sacré-Davey’s industrial, mining, and clean technology groups as required.  We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills, strong technical engineering knowledge, and an ability to build professional connections in a competitive market.

Responsibilities:

New Business Acquisition (nominally 80%)

  • Identifies customer leads and conducts initial meetings; schedules and organizes meetings for team members with clients as may be necessary to achieve sales goals.
  • Completes follow-up with potential clients, seeks feedback, and regularly reports to management regarding developments and potential roadblocks.
  • Works with other Sacré-Davey team members to pull in key resources (e.g., subject matter experts, PMs, inside sales support) to effectively support proposals in the Western Canadian market.
  • Prepares and presents market and customer analyses to management; provides in-depth analysis of opportunities which match current and potential resources.
  • Creates and maintains action plans which are directly related to achieving strategic goals and specific opportunities; coordinates the execution of action items and conducts follow-up meetings with internal resources.

Existing Business Relationship Management / Proposals (nominally 20%)

  • Assists in negotiating contracts with clients and provides recommendations.
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals and project cost estimates, including managing work-load and balancing internal and client priorities.
  • Completes follow-up calls and meetings with clients; provides regular reports to management team about status and developments.
  • Provides guidance in order to ensure completion of deliverables, including travel to our clients’ work sites.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • 5-15 years’ experience in sales in the Western Canadian oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated client development and sales success in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Able to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French
