Saadiyat Beach Club features a stunning outdoor 650 square meter chilled pool, surrounded by private cabanas that seem to float magically above the shimmering water like miniature islands. Sun loungers for members and guests use are dotted on both sides of the pool.

The beach is one of the unique features of Saadiyat Beach Club. Guests have access to a private section to the 9km stretch of Saadiyat Island beach which has been certified Blue Flag eco label since October 2013. The beach is part of a protected habitat where Hawksbill turtles have nested for countless years.

Job Description

Scope and Relationship
  • To assist the Management team in the day to day service on the restaurant floor.
  • Ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to therefore maintaining the required levels of service at all times.
  • To interact with guests ensuring satisfaction throughout the dining process.
Duties
  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
  • To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following SBC Standards of Performance.
  • To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of work
  • To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other Department of the club as assigned
  • To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the Club
  • When possible, open the door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party and Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
  • Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
  • Upon seating, offer guests a menu and server’s the guest.
  •  Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
  • To perform opening and closing procedures established for the Place of Work as assigned.
  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and upsell alternatives.
  • To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • To make table reservations and thereby effectively control and maximize the flow of guests.
  • To assist in the operation and service as required.
  • To establish a rapport with guests, providing guest recognition and good customer relationships.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

General
  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the SBC policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
  • To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
  • To attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and SBC training as scheduled and other related activities.
  • To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager and supervisors.
  • To respond to any changes in the restaurants function as dictated by the club.
  • To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
  • To have a complete understanding of the Income Audit Section in the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures.

Occasional Duties:

  • To assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Catering School Diploma would be advantageous

Experience Required

  • Higher Secondary School and minimum 1 year experience as a Waiter/Waitress or of similar role in a 5 star hotel restaurant.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is a must.
