Job Description
PPC will support the planning and scheduling of production activities for Food packaging machines. This role involves converting sales orders into executable production schedules, tracking material availability, monitoring assembly progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery. The incumbent will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain workflow continuity and resolve planning-related issues.
- Support development of production schedules based on sales orders, delivery commitments, and manufacturing capacity availability.
- Convert customer orders into detailed production plans with timelines for assembly, testing, FAT, and dispatch activities.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with Procurement and Stores teams to ensure components are available as per assembly schedules.
- Track production progress against planned schedules, identify delays or bottlenecks, and escalate issues to PPC Manager for resolution.
- Maintain and update production tracking systems (SAP or ERP) with real-time status of machines under assembly, WIP levels, and completion milestones.
- Coordinate daily/weekly planning meetings with Manufacturing, Assembly Line Managers, and cross-functional teams to review progress and priorities.
- Prepare material requirement lists (MRP runs) and communicate shortages, critical items, and urgent procurement needs to Purchasing team.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) inventory, finished goods inventory, and critical component stock levels. Alert management on excess or shortage situations.
- Support capacity planning by tracking resource utilization, assembly bay availability, and manpower allocation across multiple projects.
- Assist in resolving resource conflicts, priority changes, and schedule adjustments based on customer requirements or material constraints.
- Coordinate with Engineering team for BOM clarifications, design changes, and engineering release schedules that impact production planning.
- Support FAT scheduling by coordinating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Service teams to align machine readiness with customer visit plans.
- Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and MIS data including order status, delay analysis, material shortage reports, and delivery performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate planning documentation including production schedules, material plans, shortage reports, and change logs in ERP systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, data accuracy, and system optimization.
- Participate in weekly operations reviews, project meetings, and cross-functional discussions to provide planning inputs and updates.
- Assist in expediting critical orders, managing rush deliveries, and coordinating fast-track assembly schedules when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
- 3-6 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials planning in manufacturing or engineering industries.
- Experience in machine-building, capital equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems for planning and scheduling activities.
- Familiarity with MRP concepts, production scheduling, and inventory management principles.
