Job Description
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the fabrication and manufacturing engineering departments with proving strategic focus, clear priorities and a continuous improvement mindset. It is responsible for the quality, cost and delivery performance of the parts manufacturing, a key contributor to overall business success. The manager oversees and supports all day-to-day operations on the production floor with technical machining, tooling and production planning know-how and enables an efficient and effective production process flow.
- Establishes an empowered team to meet quality, cost and delivery performance production
- Creates transparency for performance and output via KPI and deviation management
- Responsible for the investment budget as well as the successful implementation of the investments
- Defines a machine set up reduction strategy and ensures effective implementation
- Improves the production planning process to ensure stable and predictable delivery performance
- Supports and solves production problems on the shop floor by being actively engaged and involved with the team on the shop floor daily.
- Actively seeks solutions to quality and manufacturing problems encountered in design, fabrication, and assembly. Serves as the manufacturing representative on new product development projects.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- BS in Engineering, or equivalent in Manufacturing, Mechanical or equivalent technical field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in machine shop, fabrication shop, manufacturing engineering or operations environment.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a supervisor role.
- Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures used in CNC machinery.
- Excellent planning, prioritization, and process improvement skills (Lean/Six Sigma preferred).
- Proficient in Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP and ERP experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Planning/Forecasting, Inventory/Production Planning, Finite scheduling and knowledge of Lean logistics concepts.
Additional Information
The anticipated base salary for this position starts at $90,000 per year.
Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
