Job Description
The HR Manager advises and supports the managers and employees in strategic and operative HR matters. They act as a sparring partner for the management team advising on matters regarding leadership, organisational changes and by exchanging views freely that enable compliance with current legislation and company practices. The HR Manager also supports the Global HR team with projects to promote a successful and collaborative workforce within Syntegon. The role is predominantly based in Bristol, with frequent travel required to the Derby office.
Key Responsibilities:
Within the area of operation, the HR Manager will:
- Be responsible for both locations in the UK; Bristol, Derby
- Advise and guide management on HR related topics
- Working with the Managing Directors of each location to facilitate the divisional strategy
- Analyse trends and metrics within employee data to support decision making
- Be responsible for the recruitment and retention of associates within the UK market
- Hold responsibility for the governance of remuneration development within the UK (keeping to budgets and remuneration principles, control / approval of individual pay rises)
- Support the competence management process including identifying training and development activities
- Lead the implementation of measures for organisational development within the UK whilst offering consultation and support for organisational changes
- Support central HR team with global HR projects
- Focus on the enhancement of employee engagement as a result of strong, consistent communication skills throughout all areas of the business
- Have responsibility of the administration of HR activities such as preparing HR documents, maintaining personnel records, updating HR databases
- Be responsible for payroll across both of the locations and work closely with the external payroll provider on a regular basis
- Connect with the business through curiosity and communication by asking questions, expanding networks and understanding where HR can create the most value at each of the locations
Qualifications
The job holder will hold the following knowledge and skills:
- Qualified to level 7 CIPD (or equivalent experience)
- Good knowledge of UK Legislation
- To have previous generalist experience within a multi-national organisation, with a good understanding of HR processes
- Experience of managing payroll
- Project and process orientated mind set, with an analytical approach
- Strategic planning capability
- Flexibility to travel
- Proficient IT skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively
- Creative thinker
- Strong communicator across all levels of the organisation and with external contacts
- Excellent and confident presentation skills
