Job Description

SUMMARY: This position supports the project management office by assisting the project managers and manages the master schedule.  The master schedule is used to forecast ship dates for incoming sales orders, based on materials and resources.  This role supports the project managers in financial updates, change orders, backlog assessments and project data.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the master schedule that is used to forecast ship dates on incoming sales orders.
  • Re-baseline master schedule monthly based on the month’s project actuals and changes in resources.
  • Identify high-level constraints that drive the milestone schedule.
  • Populate planned dates in project tracker at time of order entry.
  • Assist Project Manager in creating baseline project schedule specific to a customer order, incorporating Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Assembly business needs and capacities.
  • Assist Project Managers in tracking project financials.
  • Assist Project Managers in tracking third-party equipment purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Review project specific documents and ensure they are archived correctly (e.g., change orders).

Maintain PMO document archive for best practices, workflows, and processes

  • Other duties with the Project Management Office as required by manager.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a minimum of an Associate degree from an accredited university OR equivalent experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a project planning or scheduling capacity within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience using an ERP system including financial data (e.g., material costs, labor hours, invoice status), change orders, project materials back orders, standard modules and materials forecast tracking.
  • Must have at least 3+ experience working in MS Project including high-level AOP plan machine schedule, milestone portfolio schedules, product line specific project plan templates.
  • Must have at least 3+ years previous experience working cross-functionally to gather and interpret information for high-level project capacity planning and forecasting ship dates for incoming sales orders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors' degree in Business or Technology is preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Familiar with design-build and/or engineer to order (ETO) environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Office 365).
  • Experience with project dashboards and status reporting.
  • Formal project management training (e.g., PMI courses or CAPM certification).
  • Experience with the Stage Gate Process in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical experience or training.
