Job Description

What will you be working on with Syntegon?

Your primary focus with be the SME supporting and improving machine controls. You will also perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, modification of packaging machines. You will also have the opportunity to create the initial parameter setup of Automatic Injector Assembly Machines. Additional contributions on our team include assisting Parts and Sales with technical issue/questions from the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling all aspects of electronic and software for new and existing machinery.
  • Remotely support and trouble shoot equipment 
  • Supports PLC and HMI software for capital equipment. 
  • Provides technical support and training to customers and service technicians.
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment functionality, mechanical and pneumatic actuation
  • Understanding of Robotic loading and unloading systems
  • Basic knowledge of automated Camera Inspection, Vision Software, and vision tuning
  • Basic knowledge of Labeling and Laser Printing
  • Participates in Pre-FAT and Factory Acceptance Testing in Europe and Asia
  • Responsible for the commissioning of capital equipment, including Site Acceptance and Performance Testing
  • Assist clients with machine setup and run in of new formats
  • Assists in efforts across other teams or departments to assure success of all projects.
  • Participates in cross functional team meetings.
  • Participates in meetings with customers during the design phase, as needed.
  • Communicates with 3rd party vendors, when needed, regarding integration of equipment added to the machines. 
  • Be able to read electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical or E plan.
  • Overnight Travel, Domestic and limited international travel, as needed, which requires a valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Be willing to learn and cross train on other automated equipment we offer to the pharma industry
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Do you have what it takes to join our team?

Qualifications

We require the following:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have at least 1+ years of experience working with electronic controls systems, software, hardware, I/O´s and safety devices
  • Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience programming Siemens/Allen Bradley PLC and Motion Control software

It would be a bonus if you also had these extra skills:

  • BS in Electrical, Automation or Industrial Engineering is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in performing necessary changes to Ladder logic, as well as other machine control software and hardware.
  • Experience with Cognex, SICK vision systems is preferred 
  • Second language Spanish and or Danish
