Job Description

SUMMARY: Assist the packaging machine applications and estimation department with BOM standardization of all machines as well as support the teams efforts in building line layouts on Solidworks and other related activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Help build standardized bill of material on packing equipment.
  • Support Applications Engineers with machine layouts and drawings.
  • Modify and maintain sales quoting tools
  • Work with senior applications engineer and engineering staff on spare parts kits for machines
  • Coordinate materials and participate in Engineering Review Meetings.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with applications team to improve overall quoting process.
  • Investigate new technologies for implementation on new and existing local products;
  • Assist on product development projects, including product/machine research.
  • Work with inside sales and Sales Managers on quotation documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking and pricing activities for Syntegon Decatur products.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement efforts and activities;
  • Other sales support and business development activities as assigned

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must currently be enrolled in, or recently completed, an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Science, Engineering, or Technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Basic Solidworks skills and/or programming background
  • Strong skills in self-organization and independent work
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team-focused with a desire to learn
