Job Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for the implementation and development of global purchasing processes in NA.  Develop and implement guidelines for the purchasing organization across locations.  Key user responsibility for our IT systems: Orpheus, Jagger (SRM, POM, eProc), SAP BPO.  Support the purchasing organization analyzing global purchasing data.  Oversee and monitor target achievements and other KPIs of the purchasing organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Creation of standardized reports and evaluations
  • Development and reporting of KPIs and key figures
  • Development of controlling processes together with headquarters
  • Definition of purchasing guidelines including control instruments/compliance
  • Continuous improvement/development of purchasing processes
  • Preparation and implementation of reviews with sites and management
  • Support of material fields and sites in achieving goals, providing data and evaluations
  • Validation of measures with regard to correct mapping in systems (e.g. savings calculation in Cat4)
  • Elaboration of target proposals for the purchasing organization
  • 1st level support for purchasing tools/Process definition on the IT side
  • Creating of documentation and training material for the purchasing organization: Purchasing IT tools/new processes
  • Customizing IT tools to Syntegon requirements
  • Travel up to 25%

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in a controlling role
  • Must have at least 2+ years experience with implementing either IT or Purchasing processes and procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or Information Technology degree is preferred
  • Purchasing Controlling experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Basics of product cost calculation
  • Budget planning, target planning and purchasing controlling
  • Experience in a global company
  • MS Office, in particular proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Language skills (2nd language desirable)
  • Experience with Orpheus, Jagger (SRM, POM, eProc), SAP BPO
  • Team player with customer service orientation
  • Coaching skills – conduct training
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Business system knowledge, SAP preferred
