Job Description
Way of working - Work from office (5 days a week)
Location: Bangalore
Tenure: 1 - 2 years of full-time experience (excluding internships)
Position Overview:
As an SDE I at Swiggy, you will build and ship features that reach millions of users. We work at the
intersection of systems and AI, building consumer AI solutions that scale, and at this level we expect you
to have already proven two things: that you deliver features consistently in a production environment, and
that you have real hands-on experience building with AI. You should have built agents using different
kinds of harnesses and frameworks, and be able to speak concretely about what you built, the choices you
made, and the outcome it produced - not just the demo. Beyond the technical bar, we are looking for
people who bring a lot of energy and curiosity: engineers who dig into the product, ask why, take a
problem from ambiguity to production, and own the impact of what they ship rather than just the
engineering feature.
What qualities are we looking for?
- Mandatory: hands-on experience building AI agents using different kinds of harnesses and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, CrewAI,
- A consistent track record of delivering features in production: shipped regularly, followed work through rollout, and iterated based on real user feedback.
- AutoGen or similar), with the ability to clearly articulate what was built, why that harness/framework was chosen, and what outcome it achieved.
- Practical experience integrating LLMs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude),
- Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI, including prompt design, tool/function calling, and evaluating output quality.
- Very high ownership: takes a problem from ambiguity to production and doesn't consider work done until the impact is delivered.
- High energy and high curiosity: digs into how things work, engages with product initiatives beyond the assigned ticket, and learns new tools and technologies on their own.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and good knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language - Python, Java, Golang.
- Hands-on experience working with databases and Linux/Unix platforms.
- Follows industry coding standards and writes maintainable, scalable, and efficient code to solve business problems.
- A collaborative team player who communicates well, seeks and acts on feedback, and learns fast.
What will you get to do here?
- Own features end to end - from understanding the product problem, through design and development, to production rollout, monitoring, and measuring impact.
- Build LLM-powered and agentic features into Swiggy's consumer products, experimenting with different agent frameworks and harnesses and choosing the right tool for the problem.
- Learn what it takes to run AI at consumer scale: latency, cost, reliability, and evaluation in production.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and business teams to shape product initiatives, not just implement them.
- Define and track the metrics for what you ship, and iterate until the intended user and business impact is achieved.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions, and continuously raise the quality bar of your own work.
Qualifications
- B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with 1-2 years of full- time experience (excluding internships) in a product development company.
