S&W acquired ClearViewIP in September 2025 to complement the existing advisory services that S&W currently offers its clients including corporate finance, valuations, transaction services and forensic services, along with business tax, audit, consulting and business outsourcing services.
The ClearViewIP team comprises experienced IP professionals, with decades of experience in managing, protecting and commercialising innovation and ensuring best practice IP approaches are deployed to help clients win in the market.
Job Description
What you will be doing?
Managers in the ClearViewIP team at S&W operate as part of an experienced team of skilled IP, business and technical professionals providing research services to clients in a wide range of industries. This role will support the delivery of advanced IP research solutions – including Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analyses, licensing & commercialization support, technology & patent landscapes, competitive intelligence and market research – while ensuring operational excellence and innovation
Managers provide support to the IP, R&D, market research & strategy operations, and the wider team, undertaking and preparing reports and studies as per the client requirements.
AI is at the forefront of the team and it’s essential that the consultant has an AI first mindset. Experience in using and assisting the internal development of AI/ML tools and emerging technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), to improve efficiency, consistency & quality are an essential requirement.
The role will be based in our Gurugram, India office.
This position is a Mid to senior-level role and would suit candidates with experience working in the IP, R&D and market research services sectors.
As a Intellectual Property Manager your responsibilities will include among others:
Client Service/Client Work:
- Deliver exceptional client service by prioritising customer experience, achieving Exceptional Advisor standards, and proactively managing strong client relationships.
- Ensure high-quality, efficient, and timely delivery of services by aligning client needs with appropriately skilled team members and maintaining the highest professional standards.
- Promote a globally collaborative “one team” culture, working closely across S&W and ClearViewIP teams, with flexibility to support international clients and travel when required
Staff Management & Development:
- Demonstrate effective leadership aligned with the Exceptional Leader competencies, while collaborating closely with global research and operations teams.
- Manage and develop team members through day-to-day oversight, performance reviews (ADRs), mentoring, and maintaining high technical and professional standards.
- Build team capability by fostering strong leadership and management skills in direct reports and supporting talent development initiatives.
Growing the business
- Enhance ClearViewIP’s reputation by promoting its brand and capabilities both internally and externally.
- Drive business development through cross-selling across ClearViewIP and the wider S&W group, while building strong relationships with clients and prospects.
- Adopt an AI-first approach by leveraging AI and RPA to improve efficiency, innovation, and service delivery.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have
- Extensive background in intellectual property consulting, delivering strategic IP solutions across diverse sectors
- A physical science / life science / computer science or engineering degree (2:1 or higher); postgraduate qualifications, such as PhDs and Masters courses are particularly valued.
- Capable of understanding complex technologies (computer science, electronics, biochemistry or software engineering background would be particularly useful).
- Thorough and methodical approach to research, data analysis and report writing.
- Keen interest in technology and its commercial applications.
- Independent, motivated and self-driven while enjoying teamwork and cooperation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills including fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ideally some previous experience with software programming and/or using Microsoft Power BI.
