Job Description

Due to rapid growth and success at one of our federal clients (8 years and counting!), SVD Solutions is now seeking a qualified security-minded security strategist for an immediate fill position at a US federal client within the Intelligence Community (IC). This position requires the candidate to have an active TS clearance prior to accepting the position. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading federal compliance efforts, with demonstrated experience managing the complexities of Information Technology architecture and FISMA and NIST regulations. The well-rounded applicant will have familiararity with vulnerability assessment tools and cloud technologies, be able to identify security strategies to mitigate risk, and have the expertise to advise the client on implementation and continuous monitoring activities.  This position requires demonstrated experience with NIST SP-800 series, FISMA, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and processes/policy supporting Continuous Monitoring.  At SVD Solutions, we promote from within, and upward mobility is possible as we continue to grow.

This position integrates with a team of Information Security Specialists that have been on site for a number of years supporting this client. The team environment is a dynamic and fast-paced Cyber Programs division that has a lot of comraderie amongst the veteran colleagues. The Security Strategist reports directly to the Chief Security Officer and provides briefings and advisory services to the CSO and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Scheduling and facilitating ad-hoc discovery sessions with applicable stakeholders
  • Preparing a customized Assessment Plan based on information attained from key stakeholders, executive management, and technical resources
  • Working closely with the system POCs to coordinate data gathering efforts and implementation of security controls
  • Reviewing and analyzing evidence to ensure each assessment objective is achieved
  • Developing security assessment reports based on assessment results
  • Coordinating FISMA Annual Security Controls Assessments FISMA reportable systems
  • Meeting deadlines and abiding by project schedules
  • Attending and participating in team meetings and training
  • Taking pride in work products and authorship
  • Completing work to quality standards set forth by SVD and the client

Qualifications

 

  • Must possess an active US Top Secret (TS) clearance prior to accepting the position
  • Must be able to successfully pass a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant technical area or equivalent work experience
  • At least 15 years years of relevant IT experience with at least 5 years exclusively in information assurance, cyber security, or information technology
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 and NIST 800-137
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all relevant parties especially with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative manner and be a self-starter
  • Team player capable of working in a results oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, active listening, and attention to detail are a must
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong presentation skills
