Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Montessori School to lead our educational institution in Benin City, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Montessori program, ensuring academic excellence, and fostering a nurturing environment for students and staff alike.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the school's educational programs and operations
- Develop and implement Montessori curriculum aligned with international standards and local regulations
- Manage and mentor teaching staff, promoting professional development and continuous improvement
- Oversee student enrollment, retention, and overall well-being
- Collaborate with parents, board members, and the local community to promote the school's mission and values
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations set by Nigerian authorities
- Cultivate a positive school culture that embraces diversity, creativity, and innovation
- Lead marketing and outreach efforts to promote the school and increase enrollment
- Stay current with educational trends and best practices in Montessori education
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Montessori pedagogy
- Degree in early childhood education
- Montessori teaching certification
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Montessori education, including a leadership role
- Proven track record in school administration and operations management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in curriculum development and implementation
- Experience in staff development and training
- Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Strategic planning and decision-making skills
- In-depth knowledge of Montessori philosophy and methodology
- Comprehensive understanding of child development and learning theories
- Familiarity with educational regulations and standards in Nigeria
- Additional educational leadership certifications (preferred)
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends
