Job Description
We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Classroom Teacher to support the educational needs of students in our [grade level/subject] classroom. The successful candidate will assist the Lead Classroom Teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
1. Assist the Lead Teacher in lesson planning and delivery.
2. Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.
3. Lead small group instruction and activities.
4. Monitor student progress and report concerns to the Lead Teacher.
Classroom Management:
1. Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment.
2. Assist with classroom setup and preparation.
3. Supervise students during transitions and activities.
4. Manage student behavior and report incidents to the Lead Teacher.
Collaboration:
1. Work closely with the Lead Teacher to achieve instructional goals.
2. Participate in department meetings and professional development.
3. Collaborate with other support staff (e.g. special education).
4. Communicate with parents/guardians through regular updates.
Administrative:
1. Maintain accurate records of student progress.
2. Assist with grading and feedback.
3. Prepare instructional materials and resources.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Associate's degree or higher in Education or related field.
2. Teaching certification or assistant teaching certification (desired).
3. 1-2 years of experience in education or related field.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with students with special needs.
2. Familiarity with curriculum design and implementation.
3. Knowledge of educational technology.
4. Bilingual or multilingual skills.
