Multifaceted intervention, prevention, and education services are carried out at four sites on the Westside of Los Angeles.  St. Joseph Center’s integrated programs provide clients with concentrated and coordinated access to services according to the nature of their needs.

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Director works as a team leader for several social service and administrative personnel ensuring the delivery of quality care and establishing program policies and procedures in accordance to the rules and regulations established by the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health (DMH) for contracted agencies and local housing authorities, Department of Health Services (DHS), and The City of Santa Monica while adhering to the mission of St. Joseph Center.  The Director leads the Homeless Full Service Partnership (FSP) SPA 5 and SPA 6, Integrated Mobile Health Team (IMHT), and Animo Latinx Integrated Services programs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides clinical oversight and administrative supervision to program staff and managers as needed. 

  • Works closely with the Assistant Vice President, the fiscal department and program staff to assure management and compliance of program contracts. 

  • Ensures that program annual budget goals are achieved and DMH billing is met or exceeded for the fiscal year. 

  • Assures the timely collection of client service data tied to contract billing, grant reporting and/or agency evaluation. As needed, reviews and implements modifications to data collection systems and design and implements new systems as required. 

  • Monitors monthly staff billing and prepares monthly billing reports for DMH and other funders. 

  • Oversees service delivery consulting regularly with the Quality Assurance Consultant regarding quality control issues to maintain the highest standard of mental health services and program compliance. 

  • Helps the Quality Assurance department in overseeing program activities and assures timely completion of progress notes, billing documentation and maintaining staff case records. 

  • Represents the program at local DMH, DHS, and the City of Santa Monica meetings and builds working relationships with other service providers. 

  • Collects statistics and prepares reports for funders and internal agency use. 

  • Assists the Assistant Vice President in creating program budgets and monitoring spend down. 

  • Partners with Outcomes Assistants to ensure that client outcomes are completed as required 

  • Monitors and measures client progress against treatment plans and stated goals as it applies to mental health documentation 

  • Helps monitor and track progress of teams meeting short and long term goals. 

  • Develops higher levels of expertise in staff members by encouraging further education, participation in seminars and providing learning opportunities within the program. 

  • Attends, participates, leads and/or facilitates routinely scheduled meetings as requested or required by the program, division, or agency. 

  • Assists staff in 5150 client holds.

Documentation: 

  • Provides oversight to ensure that supervisee and staff services are documented according to DMH standards and all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner with the support from the Quality Assurance Department and training staff. 

  • Ensures all program data is accurate and entered into the appropriate program documentation system as contractually required. (i.e. HMIS, internal spreadsheets, CES, Exym, etc.). 

  • Generates client data for reporting. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with advances and evidenced based intervention: Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Critical Time Intervention, and Housing First  

  • Experience assisting people in applying for SSI and SSDI (SOAR or BEST Certification preferred) 

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team 

  • Exercises mature and professional judgement 

  • Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills 

  • A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks 

  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA confidentiality requirements 

  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of working in a fast paced, professional environment 

  • Availability to work evening and weekends as requested by management, and based on the operational needs of the program 

  • Strong written and verbal communication 

  • Demonstrates experience with providing mental health assessments using diagnostic criteria from the DSM V 

  • LPS Certified 

 

Experience: 

  • 5 years of experience providing mental health services. 2 years management experience.  

 

Education: 

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling or social work 

 

License: 

  • Licensure as a LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC 

 

Computer Skills: 

  • PC skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point

Additional Information

Status: Full-time/Exempt

    Pay Range: $87,550 - $109,180/yr

    At St. Joseph Center, pay ranges are set using the best available market data for the job at the required location. To determine salary for a candidate, we consider the candidate's skills and capabilities for the job compared with expectations for the position.
