Salary range: $6,801.08 - $9,521.50 per month
Job Description
The Business Banking Officer II is an integral part of the Business Banking team and is key to the growth and promotion of STCU’s business member products. The position is primarily responsible for establishing and developing new business loans, deposits and cash management products to new and existing members. This position focuses on C&I prospects with borrowing needs up to $500,000 and owner-occupied real estate up to $1 million.
Core Job Requirements/Outcomes
- Meet and exceed individual goals by creating, executing and documenting a calling/prospect plan and related activities.
- Manage and develop existing loan and deposit portfolio by maintaining a trusted advisor role with the member and establishing consistent contact and advise on products and services best suited to the member’s needs, making recommendations accordingly.
- Develop and maintain sound credit skills by staying current on STCU’s Member Business Loan Policy, standards and procedures. Provide adequate terms, pricing and conditions for credit and deposit requests.
Other Essential Functions
- Identify and suggest ways to improve interdepartmental teamwork and serve as a mentor to other Business Banking Officers.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with Retail Branches and STCU Connect, responding to referrals in a timely manner to exceed member expectations and satisfaction. Coordinate with various departments throughout STCU to demonstrate your aptitude as a trusted advisor both internally and externally.
- Be involved in community events and/or serve on boards to expand network. Stay informed of community and industry trends through reading relevant publications and classes.
- Maintain knowledge of SBA lending programs and promote SBA products to members and prospects. Work with members and internal support to obtain necessary information.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related area required or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Job Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience working with business clients with a minimum of three years of successful sales experience in a production environment.
Software Skills: Previous experience with cloud banking software and/or construction loan management software such as nCino, Built and Malauzai is preferred. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Travel Demands: Travel as needed for site inspections and/or meetings/training.
