Job Description

The Support Services Specialist position is responsible for processing mail and packages and maintaining the integrity of member addresses with regard to formatting standards and bad address notifications received through various channels.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Ensure the secure, timely, and accurate delivery of mail, documents and other credit union items by sorting and distributing mail daily partnering with the courier for transportation to other locations.
  • Process outgoing mail and deliveries in accordance with STCU, USPS and other delivery service standards by providing guidance to employees on how the items should be prepared
  • Ensure address formatting meets USPS standards and mail codes are accurate by processing returned mail and reports to indicate when an updated address is needed and correcting member information in applicable databases.

Other Essential Functions

  • Manage assigned vendor relationships by communicating regularly and facilitating open discussions on product or services; to include mail, shipping, and courier vendors.
  • Distribute office supplies according to department processes.
  • Act as courier when needed by preparing the bags and transporting items as necessary.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Experience: Minimum of three years related experience in an office and/or purchasing administration function. Minimum one year previous experience as a courier is preferred.

Software Skills: Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Equipment Skills: Ability to operate mail processing equipment.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 50 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
