Job Description

The Director of Lending Administration partners with the consumer, real estate and commercial teams in the management, monitoring and administration of lending operations. The position oversees the management loan systems that are critical to the day to day operations and growth of the lending channels. Through collaboration and partnership with the lending teams, it also oversees and/or participates in process improvement initiatives, vendor management, regulatory compliance, quality control and loan reviews.

  • Partner directly with lending division leadership by identifying key areas of support and development and creating roadmaps with timelines for completion.
  • Oversee the lending administration leaders and the lending administration function by providing oversight and direction to the team, key systems, processes, policies, and products.
  • Provide guidance to the lending divisions by overseeing loan processes, procedures, system administration and the collection/organizing of data to enhance the team’s ability to perform their tasks both effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead lending research initiatives and/or projects by providing guidance and support related to lending products and services.

Other Essential Functions

  • Develop lending administration team members to include cross training of critical tasks to create department redundancy and succession plan.
  • Monitor and interpret industry trends, best practices or other strategically valuable focuses that impact all lending divisions. 
  • Annually, will prepare and present a detailed strategy plan and timeline that describes how Lending Administration will partner with the lending divisions in meeting their goals and objectives.
  • Partner with key credit union stakeholders in the completion of projects and other critical lending initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal/external examiners for document retrieval and audit responses as requested by the auditors or examiners.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules, regulations and industry standards in regard to regulatory compliance and any other matters of interest related to lending.
  • Partner and participate as needed on items related to credit management, monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting is required.

Job Experience: Minimum eight years’ experience in consumer and/or real estate lending and strong business service knowledge. Minimum of five years successful leadership experience, preferably in a financial services environment.

Software Skills: Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
