Job Description

The Lending Quality Control Specialist is primarily responsible for facilitating the quality control audit and review process for the consumer and real estate loan portfolio. This includes auditing for compliance with consumer regulations for all consumer and real estate loan types.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Support the overall health and success of the credit union by completing pre and post closing quality control audits as required by our investor partners and reporting any findings to Lending Quality Control Administrator.
  • Ensure the timely completion of reoccurring quality control audits by following the plan outlined in the Lending Administration certification program and delivering any findings to the Lending Quality Control Administrator.
  • Coordinate government loan sales in partnership with the Secondary Market Administrator by preparing loan files for shipping based on investor guidelines, completing electronic and/or hard copy shipping of loans within required timeframes and finalizing loan purchase transactions within the core system.

Other Essential Functions

  • Assist with internal/external audits as well as examinations, retrieving applicable information as requested by the auditors/examiners or the Lending Quality Control Administrator.
  • Maintain the ability to successfully sell funded government loans by conducting pre-funding reviews and sharing common investor conditions to help improve the origination process.
  • Ensure impacted quality control audits stay up to date with continuous improvement workflow changes by being an active participate in lending channel continuous improvement events.
  • Process quality control and audit reports utilizing the loan origination systems and data warehouse reporting tools.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required; associates degree preferred

Job Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in financial services with at least three years in the consumer or real estate lending field including knowledge of consumer lending regulations, compliance standards and the loan origination process (preferably in a credit union environment).

Software Skills: Experience in navigating lending origination systems, with preference given to specific experience in LoansPQ and/or Encompass. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
