The primary responsibility is to manage a key network that is critical to SSE and our major client success, and to provide exceptional customer service.

 

This role provides proactive server and network infrastructure maintenance and support to complex environments.

 

Contribute to RFP’s and write technical research papers regarding the planning and delivery of network services.

 

Security clearance required.  An existing security clearance is preferred -  the ability to obtain an interim and proceed to a Security Clearance in a timely manner may be considered

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/SKILLS

  • Triage, review, and troubleshoot server and network issues.
  • Deliver solutions based on established practices and procedures.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and also in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge and experience with the following, which includes Server, Desktop, LAN, and WAN technologies:

-        Network Operating Systems:  Windows Server, SBS

-        Firewall:  Cisco PIX and ASA, Sonicwall

-        Directory Services:  Active Directory,  LDAP

-        Other Server Technologies; Terminal Services, Remote Desktop Services, Hyper-V

-        Other Operating Systems :  Unix, Linux, Macintosh

-        Core Network Services: DNS, DHCP, RRAS, WINS, Citrix, Terminal Services

-        Desktop Operating Systems:  Windows,  Linux (Optional),  Macintosh

-        Mobile Systems;  Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows

-        Communications:  TCP/ IP, VPN/SSL-VPN, LAN and WAN, HTTP(S), EDI

-        Remote Support Software: VNC, MS Remote Desktop, Remote Assistance

-        Patch Management: Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

-        Communications:  TCP/ IP, VPN/SSL-VPN, LAN and WAN, HTTP(S)

-        Clustering Technologies: Hyper-V, VMWare, P2V, iSCSI, SAN, NAS

-        Other Tools: MS Project and MS Visio

  • Hands-on experience with core third-party support software highly desired, including:

-        Operating System Imaging Software: Ghost, Acronis

-        Corporate Backup: Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec, Acronis

-        Corporate Anti-Virus Software: Symantec, McAfee, TrendMicro, AVG

-        Corporate Spyware Software:  MalwareBytes, SuperAntispyware, CCleaner

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Effective writing skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field with seven to ten years network and/or systems administration experience.  Professional certification Cisco, Microsoft, or Oracle is a plus.  DoD Information Assurance credentials Level II or better helpful. Security clearance required. An existing security clearance is preferred - the ability to obtain an interim and proceed to official Secret Clearance will be considered. Additionally team members are expected to participate in Microsoft skill development program along with progression to DOD Information Assurance Level III credentials.
