Job Description
Position Summary:
Manage the RAI process and provide leadership to the RAI interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities: Clinical Supervision, Staff Instruction & Orientation, and Quality
- Manage the RAI process according to Home policies, MLTC regulations, College Standards of Practices and interRAI LTCF requirements
- Establish and provide leadership to the RAI team for backup support and coordination
- Oversee the interdisciplinary team to ensure the completion of both MDS/RAPs and care planning development
- Provide leadership for education in interRAI LTCF and software training to the interdisciplinary team members which include nursing, social worker services, recreation/restorative, therapist, dietary, physician and pharmacy
- Serve as an interRAI LTCF resource for staff members, facilitating RAI knowledge transfer within the Home and communicating RAI implementation challenges to the MRC and Management team
- Delegate RAI activities to staff members that are appropriate to the level of staff
- Addressing information technology (IT) questions and or coordinating IT education and support with vendor data accuracy, efficient data collection process, assessment completion and data utilization
- Provide leadership/overseeing the development and coordination of the data submissions/data accuracy process
- Generate RAI MDS 2.0 reports and facilitating their use in clinical and operational decision making
- Responsible for data submission to CIHI
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Current RPN Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current knowledge of Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) and College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards
- A minimum of three years clinical, project leadership or management experience
- Knowledgeable and understanding of RAI MDS process and the RAI Coordinator role.
- Advanced knowledge in computer skills: Point Click Care, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Powerpoint
- Understanding of clinical practice guidelines and current resident care practices; excellent care planning skills
- Experience with presenting to groups and knowledge in adult education strategies
- Demonstrated success leading new initiatives and proven ability to get things accomplished
- Team oriented with ability to work with and relate to interdisciplinary team members in the Home
- Knowledge of risk and quality management and policy development
- Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills
- Clear aptitude for detail-oriented work
- MDS education an asset
