Job Description
SOS International LLC is seeking a highly qualified Special Activities Task Lead to support the planning, coordination, and execution of special activities within the J39 Special Activities Branch (SAB). This role is critical to enabling mission success by integrating planning efforts, developing operational documentation, and advising senior leadership on complex operational challenges within the Operational Information Environment (OIE).
The ideal candidate will operate with minimal guidance, bringing deep experience in joint planning processes, operational coordination, and senior-level engagement. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly support high-priority missions and contribute to the effectiveness of special activities across global operations.
Duties:
- Support the planning and execution of operations by drafting and maintaining policies, programs, and other regulatory documents.
- Work independently with minimal guidance or direction to accomplish mission requirements.
- Assist in conducting conferences, working groups, and organizational meetings.
- Advise senior leadership on issues related to J39-SAB planning efforts.
- Tailor planning efforts to meet mission requirements and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure effective and efficient execution of special activities.
Expanded Aligned Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain operational plans (OPLANs), contingency plans (CONPLANs), orders (OPORDs), and supporting annexes/appendices in accordance with Joint Planning Process (JPP) and applicable DoD guidance.
- Integrate special activities, information operations (IO), and influence considerations into broader operational planning efforts.
- Synchronize planning activities across Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), Joint Task Forces (JTFs), and interagency partners.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support campaign planning, targeting processes, and operational design within the OIE.
- Facilitate and lead working groups, planning sessions, and coordination meetings, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver high-level briefings, decision support materials, and planning updates for senior leaders (GO/FO/SES).
- Ensure all planning products comply with classification guidance, OPSEC requirements, and applicable authorities and approvals.
- Support rapid planning cycles and time-sensitive operational requirements in a dynamic mission environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) at the time of proposal submission and maintain the clearance level required to access the facility.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years' military/DoD experience producing orders, plans, annexes, and appendices in accordance with DoD Joint planning guidance.
- Demonstrated experience with the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and familiarity with operational-level planning constructs.
- Proven ability to operate independently in high-tempo, mission-driven environments with minimal oversight.
- Experience coordinating across multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in developing planning products and briefing senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Eligible for a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CSP).
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience (within the last five years) as a staff member at a Combatant Command (CCMD), Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), Joint Task Force (JTF), Service component, or Joint Staff (JS) supporting plans or operations fields.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in program or project management, including leadership of diverse and technical teams of five (5) or more personnel.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience developing briefings, presentations, and papers for senior leadership, including General Officers (GO), Flag Officers (FO), Senior Executive Service (SES), and Secretariat-level personnel.
- Experience supporting special activities, information operations (IO), psychological operations (PSYOP), or influence campaigns.
- Familiarity with USSOCOM J39 structures, Special Activities Branch (SAB) processes, and authorities.
- Experience integrating planning efforts across interagency and coalition partners.
- Knowledge of targeting processes (e.g., Joint Targeting Cycle) and campaign assessment frameworks.
- Prior experience in deployed or forward operational environments.

- Normal office conditions.
- The primary performance location for this contract will be MacDill AFB, Florida.
- The Government reserves the right to require contract performance at alternate locations, as dictated by mission requirements; these locations may be subject to change.
- Occasional travel may be required in support of planning efforts, coordination activities, or operational missions.
